The Episcopal Diocese of Arkansas Youth Delta Mission

Three churches in Forrest City, Christ Church Episcopal, Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, and Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church, will host over 50 youth from five visiting youth groups for the week of June 12-17. The visiting Episcopal groups are from Calvary Episcopal/Bastrop, Texas (in the Austin area), St. Thomas/Springdale, AR, St. John’s/Fort Smith, AR and St. Mark’s & Trinity/Little Rock, AR. The theme of the Mission is “Be the Change.” These youth will join local youth to “be the change” in the Forrest City area by crossing some of the barriers that separate humanity: geographic, social, economic, ethnic, and age. Their work will include serving a meal on Monday through the Graham Memorial Presbyterian’s Soup Kitchen program; helping referred residents with minor household projects and yard work; helping with landscaping for two local churches; working with the Victory Methodist Meal Program; and serving as counselors for the opening week of the JB Sports Summer Recreational Program in Madison.
