GC Budget: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
The Rev. Susan Brown Snook, on her blog A Good and Joyful Thing, has been offering up some good analysis and commentary on the Presiding Bishop's recommended budget:
I talked about The Good points of the PB's budget proposal here. And I want to be clear - the good points of this proposal are enough to win my support. This proposal is a vast improvement over the Executive Council proposed budget that came out a few months ago, and caused such a brouhaha. ...It's maybe a bit of an exaggeration to call this "bad" ... But there are a few things I think we should be aware of. This proposed budget does not increase the percentages of funding devoted to mission as much as it appears to. ...I really don't have to explain the Ugly to you. ...
