First, if delegates to convention or members of the clergy wish to submit a resolution for consideration by the convention, it needs first to be sent to the Resolutions Committee. Please email the Rev. Danny Schieffler, rector of St. Mark's in Little Rock and chair of the Resolutions Committee, any resolution that you want considered. He and his committee will prepare the resolution and then present it to convention with their recommendation.
Second, there will be a number of elections at convention. The following offices are to be filled; each carries a three-year term, unless otherwise noted:
- One position each for a lay person and a member of the clergy for the Standing Committee.
- One position each for a lay person and a member of the clergy for the Disciplinary Board.
- Two positions for lay people and one position for a member of the clergy for the Camp Mitchell Board of Trustees.
- One position for a lay person for the Board of Trustees of the University of the South (Sewanee).
- One position for a member of the clergy for the Board of Trustees of the University of the South (Sewanee). This office carries a two-year term.
- The Northeast and Northwest Convocations will each elect a clergy representative to the diocesan Executive Council.
- The Central and Southwest Convocations will each elect a lay person as representative to the diocesan Executive Council.
(Learn more about what each of these committees does and the criteria for eligibility.)
Any communicant in the diocese may nominate a qualified person for these positions. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone, please complete and submit a nomination form online. It will automatically be sent to the Rev. Marti Dalby, vicar of St. Francis Church in Heber Springs and chair of the Nominations Committee.
Faithfully,
